GALAJI (Indigo Dye)

Artisan handmade African Indigo Pillow Cover (Pillow Insert NOT included). Each cloth we import is unique and each cut of the fabric will vary the design slightly.

Indigo fabric is one of the most popular fabrics from Africa. Symbolic of wealth and prosperity, this fabric is admired by almost every ethnic group on the continent. The cotton fabric is first hand-woven on looms and then dyed using leaves from the indigo plant that have been beaten into a pulp, rolled into balls, and then left to dry in the sun for two to three days.

The pillow covers are hand sewn here in Miami, Florida by a local seamstress. The pillow backing is made of a dark blue cotton duck canvas material with an invisible zipper.

This Indigo cloth is the perfect complement to the Bohemian-chic room decor.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We have pre-washed each Indigo fabric to minimize dye rub off, which can occur with this type of fabric. We do not recommend putting on a white sofa. Dry clean or spot clean by hand, due to their natural dyes colors may fade on contact with water.

We recommend using a feather insert that is either the same size as the cover or if you want a fuller look you can go 1-2 inches larger than the cover. Feather inserts give a much nicer look and feel. If you prefer a more spongy feel you can use a polyester insert, but would stick with the same size insert as the cover. Hope that helps.

GENERAL SHIPPING

Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed and shipped (3-5 days during sales and product launches). Orders placed late Thursday evening and Friday are typically shipped out the following Monday.

Make sure your items, preferences and delivery address are correct before placing an order. We cannot change orders once they have been placed. Once items have been shipped, we are not responsible for orders delivered to the wrong address.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Although we do our best to ship all orders properly, once they leave the U.S., we have no control over any additional cost. Please be aware that customs charges may apply. 

HOLIDAY SHIPPING

Please note that between November 25th and December 25th there will be delays in shipping. Shipments may take longer due to mail traffic. Please plan accordingly.
