Artisan handmade African Kuba Cloth Pillow Cover (Pillow Insert NOT included).

The cover is handmade by the Kuba people of the African Congo.  Kuba cloth is just starting to become popular in the United States.  Using the leaf of the raffia tree, the Kuba artisans first hand cut, and then weave the strips of leaf to make pieces of fabric, often called raffia cloth.  The process of making kuba cloth is extremely time consuming and may take several days to form a simple placemat size piece.  The pillow backing is made of a black cotton canvas material with an invisible zipper and is hand sewn here in Miami, Florida by a local seamstress.

IMPORTANT: Care of kuba cloth - It is not recommended kuba cloth be dry cleaned unless it is taken to a high quality cleaner who specializes in antique and fine fabrics. HAND WASH ONLY, machine washing is NOT recommended.

We recommend using a feather insert that is either the same size as the cover or if you want a fuller look you can go 1-2 inches larger than the cover. Feather inserts give a much nicer look and feel. If you prefer a more spongy feel you can use a polyester insert, but would stick with the same size insert as the cover. Hope that helps.

GENERAL SHIPPING

Please allow 1-2 business days for your order to be processed and shipped (3-5 days during sales and product launches). Orders placed late Thursday evening and Friday are typically shipped out the following Monday.

Make sure your items, preferences and delivery address are correct before placing an order. We cannot change orders once they have been placed. Once items have been shipped, we are not responsible for orders delivered to the wrong address.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

Although we do our best to ship all orders properly, once they leave the U.S., we have no control over any additional cost. Please be aware that customs charges may apply.

Please note that between November 25th and December 25th there will be delays in shipping. Shipments may take longer due to mail traffic. Please plan accordingly.
